Why an email waits
Emails from your team’s sign-in addresses and from your contacts are read straight away. An email from anyone else waits, unread, until an admin decides. An email can also wait when SlipInbox can’t confirm it really came from the address it shows, even if that address is a contact.
Waiting emails are listed under SettingsEmailUnknown senders, one row per email, with the sender and when it arrived. In Recent emails they show Waiting for approval, with a Decide on this sender link. While anyone is waiting, the dashboard shows Unknown senders waiting with a count.
Decide on a sender
Open Unknown senders and find the sender.
If you know them, press Allow and read. They are added to Contacts and their email is read now. Their later emails are read straight away.

- Allow only: Adds them to Contacts. What they sent is not read.
- Pause: Adds them to Contacts, turned off. Nothing is read.
- Reject: Deletes what they sent. If they write again, they wait here again.
- Block: Deletes what they sent and ignores them from now on.
Reject and Block ask you to confirm first. You can change a contact you allowed, paused or blocked later; see Contacts.
Good to know
- SlipInbox never writes to the sender, whatever you choose. They aren’t told they were allowed, rejected or blocked.
- Emails turned away because your receipt allowance is used up never wait here; they show in Recent emails instead. See What happened to an email.
- When nobody is waiting, the page says No unknown senders.
