Supplier receipts for restaurants and cafés

A kitchen buys from the market, the butcher, the dairy and the cash and carry every week. SlipInbox reads each slip down to the last line and shows you when a price moved.

Every line on the slip, read

Kitchen receipts run long: twelve kinds of vegetables, three cuts of meat, a box of napkins. SlipInbox reads each line as an item with its quantity, unit price and amount, under the receipt's merchant, date and total.

If the items and the total disagree, a warning shows under the list, so a skipped line gets caught before anyone approves the receipt.

See when a supplier raises a price

Beside each item, an arrow and a percentage show the price rose or dropped since the last time you bought the item from the same supplier. Point at the arrow for the earlier price and date.

Add a rule such as Item prices rose by more than 10%, and every receipt with a jump gets flagged for a second look before anyone pays the next invoice.

One supplier, whatever the slip calls them

The cash and carry prints its name three different ways. SlipInbox files every spelling under one merchant and keeps each branch as its own location, so the monthly report counts the supplier once.

Pick a category for one receipt from the butcher, and every later receipt from the butcher arrives with the same category.

Slips in from the kitchen, invoices in from email

The chef photographs the market receipt with the phone camera in SlipInbox, or sends the photo on WhatsApp. Suppliers who email invoices send them to your organization's forwarding address. Email forwarding and WhatsApp come with the Business and Enterprise plans, and every slip lands in the same list.

On every plan, a QR code poster in the staff room or by the back door does the same job. Kitchen staff scan the code, pick their name and send the market slip, with no account to set up.

Questions

Does SlipInbox read long supplier invoices?

Yes. SlipInbox reads photos and PDFs and lists every item on the slip. Items read wrong get corrected on the receipt, and your corrections survive another read.

How does SlipInbox know a price changed?

Each item is compared with the last time you bought the item from the same merchant, in the same currency. Small moves get no arrow, so the arrows mark the changes worth a look.

Is SlipInbox a stock or inventory system?

No. SlipInbox reads and checks receipts and exports them. Stock counts and recipes stay in the tools you use for them.

Stop retyping receipts.
