Turn receipts into an Excel or CSV file

Photos and PDFs in, one clean spreadsheet out. Every row checked and approved before the file reaches your accountant.

Retyping receipts costs more than the time

Typing a receipt into a sheet takes a minute or two. Across a team of ten, at twenty receipts each a month, those minutes add up to most of a working day. The bigger cost is the typo nobody spots: a 7 read as a 1, a VAT amount in the total column, a receipt entered twice.

SlipInbox reads the receipt, keeps the photo beside every row, and flags totals which fail to add up. Your team checks instead of types.

Choose the columns

Every export uses a layout. Two come built in, and admins add more from over 30 columns.

  • Simple: date, merchant, category, total, currency, who sent the receipt, notes, and the receipt link
  • Accountant / VAT: reference, date, merchant, category, subtotal, VAT, total, currency, receipt number, merchant tax ID, payment method, legal name and link
  • Your own: tick any columns, from VAT rate and tip to merchant address and card digits, plus your custom fields

Send only approved receipts

Filter the list to Approved before you export. Receipts still waiting for a check, or rejected as personal, then stay out of the file.

Approved receipts lock. Changing one afterwards means reopening the receipt, and the receipt history records who reopened the receipt and when.

Export by month, category or person

Filter the receipt list first, by receipt date, category, status, contact or total, then export. The file holds every receipt matching the filters across all pages. Exporting changes nothing on the receipts, so an auditor asking for last year gets the same rows again.

What happens to the file next

Open the Excel file in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. Import the CSV into your accounting software, or send either file to your bookkeeper. SlipInbox guards every cell against spreadsheet formulas, so a merchant name starting with = never runs as a formula.
