Your trial and receipt allowance
How receipts are counted each month, the warning before you run out, and what happens after.
How receipts are counted
Your plan includes a number of receipts each calendar month. Every receipt counts, however it arrives: uploaded, added from a phone or forwarded by email. The month follows your organization’s timezone, which is set from the country you chose when you signed up. See the allowance for each plan on the pricing page.
Admins can see how much is used in SettingsBilling, under Current plan. Received this month shows the receipts so far against the allowance, and Team members does the same for your team.
During a trial
Starter and Business start with a free trial; the pricing page shows how long it lasts. Enterprise has no trial.
A trial has its own cap on receipts as well as the monthly allowance. Whichever leaves less room is the one that counts. While the trial runs, Billing also shows Trial receipts, and a line at the top of every page says how many days are left and how many trial receipts you have used.
Your first invoice arrives when the trial starts and is due on the day it ends. See Overdue, suspended and locked for what happens if it isn’t paid by then.
The warning before you run out
Once you have used 80% of your allowance, a line at the top of every workspace page warns you. It says how many receipts you have used this month out of how many, and ends “Upgrade before new ones are turned away.” When the trial cap is the closer one, it counts trial receipts and asks you to choose a plan to keep going.
Admins see Upgrade plan or Open billing beside the warning. Everyone else sees “Ask an admin.”
When the allowance is used up
When the allowance is used up, SlipInbox takes in no more receipts until there is room again:
- Uploads are refused, with a message that ends “Upgrade your plan to add more.” If you add several files and only some fit, SlipInbox says how many more fit so you can add fewer.
- Forwarded emails are turned away. Under Recent emails they show as Ignored — receipt allowance used up, and the warning at the top of the page counts them, such as “3 forwarded emails turned away this month.”
Getting more room
Room comes back in any of these ways:
- The month turns. The count starts again on the first day of the month, in your organization’s timezone.
- You move to a bigger plan. See Change or cancel your plan.
- You delete receipts you don’t need.
